The unusual feature of this watch is that it is a true skeleton watch and you can see straight through the dial and movement
These watches were made as Novelty watches when made over 100 years ago and where never the best quality. This watch has been cleaned and serviced and does work well keeping time to around 5 minutes a day and should not really be used on a daily basis
The movement has a clear Patent number on the bottom of part of the bridge near the winding wheel
Movement – the gilt skeleton movement has a lever escapement and is signed with the patent number No 37637. The movement is in 90% mint condition – on the whole very clean with just some spotting on the main spring wheel
Case – the movement comes in a gunmetal open face case, which has a snap on back and front. The case has a glass on the back and front, so you can see straight through the movement and dial. The case has coin edged sides and a smooth plain finish on the bezels. The case is in 90% mint condition – on the whole very crisp and clean for a gunmetal case, just the lightest of pitting to the metal when you inspect the case under an eye glass
Dial – the silvered dial is cut away around the movement with a fancy design so that the movement is visible from the back. The dial has blue steel hands and is in 95% mint condition – just a slight mark on the 5
