The watch has English silver cases. Both cases are original and one is hallmarked London 1768 and the other 1769 (it is common for pair cased verges to have cases with hallmarks for one year apart)
The watch has been cleaned and serviced and works well but please do not expect quartz like accuracy from a 245 year old watch.
At present the watch runs the full length of its chain and keeps time to within 5 minutes and hour
Movement this gilt full plate verge movement has a gilt watch cock which is decorated with fancy pierced work and an engraved basket of fruit and also a pierced foot
The movement also has a Square baluster pillars and a silver regulator disc with a more pierced work.
The movement is signed J Daventry, London, 533 and is in 95% mint condition very clean
Inner case the movement comes in a silver inner case, which has a hinged bezel and the movement swings out from the front.
The watch is wound from the back and set from the front.
The case has a smooth plain finish with a scroll monogram on the back with initials JB.
The case also has an exceptional bow and stem.
These are free from damage and are in the early style it is so unusual to find watches with their original bows
The case is in 85% mint condition very clean with just a light groove from the outer

The case has its original button and large square hinge
The case also has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition very clean indeed
Dial the white enamel dial has its original steel beetle and poker hands. The dial is in 95% mint condition light surface scratches only.
The watch has a mineral bulls eye glass
