Movement – this large gilt full plate fusee movement has a compensated balance wheel with large gold timing screws. The movement also has a very clean and crisp example of a regulator and large jewels also. The movement is signed “Chronometer Maker to the Admiralty, London, EC” and is in 99% mint condition – some tiny marks only.
The watch comes with gilt dust cap, which is signed John Forrest, London, EC, 14168”
Case – the watch comes in a massive English silver Hunter case, which has a hinged back and front cover, where the watch is wound from the back and set from the front.
The large front cover pops open crisply when you press the button on the stem in.
The case has coin edged sides, engine turning and a striking vacant cartouche on the front cover. The case is in 95% mint condition – small traces of engine turning have worn overall this is a crisp and very large case. The watch weighs in total 172g.
Dial – the white enamel dial is signed “John Forrest, London” and is in 99% mint condition – there is a tiny hairline right on the edge of the sub secs on the 30 mark. The watch has a synthetic glass but looks like a mineral glass
