4.42 English Silver S. SMITH and Son Half Hunter Pocket Watch with original Box. 51mm. Stem Wound / Pin Set. Chester 1902

Movement – the gilt full plate movement has a lever escapement and is covered completely by the ¾ plate and also a patent cover held in place by two screws. The movement is signed “S. Smith & Son, The “Strand Watch”, English Made, Watchmakers to the Admiralty, 9 Strand London, No 84113” and also signed “Reg289238” which was the Patent registration for the gilt hermetic cap. The movement is in 90% mint condition – some scratches around the screw marks

Case – the movement comes in an English silver Half Hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The case is numbered 84113 and has blue enamel numbers on the front cover and a smooth plain finish else where. The front cover pops open 45 degrees when you press the winder in and needs to be lifted manually to he full 90 degrees. Also please note, the back cover will sometimes pop open when you press the winder in to open the front cover, unless the inner cover and back cover have both been closed securely. The case is in 85% mint condition – a small bruise on the side and a little ding on the edge

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of gilt hands and is in 100% mint condition. The watch has a synthetic glass over the front cover and a mineral glass in the front cover. The watch comes in its original leather box signed on the lid and inside “S Smith & Son”.
