4.53 Rare Silver Half Hunter with its Original Leather Desk Case. 45mm. Stem Wound / Pin Set Circa 1890

In the past 20 years I have sold thousands of watches and this is third only example of a leather desk case made for a Half hunter watch. The mottled green / brown leather case has a strut on the back so it can stand upright. The cover opens up and inside the box is lined with green velvet and silk. The case is orientated so that it takes the half hunter, with its winder to the side – most cases are fitted to the winder is at 12. The box measures 93mm long x 78mm wide x 29mm deep. The case does have some scratches and wear but is still in good condition The watch is working well and keeps good time Movement – the gilt bridge movement has a lever escapement and is numbered 699482. The movement is in 80% mint condition – some marks and scratches

Case – the movement comes in a silver Half Hunter case. The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover and the front cover pops crisply open to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The front cover has dark blue / black enamel numbers. The rest of the case is decorated with crisp coin edged sides and engine turning. The inside of the case is signed “Berna, Swiss Made” # 699482 The case is in 95% mint condition – very crisp and clean
