The watch was made by the esteemed company of Henry Sandoz, Locle and has a very low serial number of 391
Movement – the high grade nickel movement has a lever escapement and a slide activated minute repeater function with two hammers striking against an internal gong. The minute hammer is jeweled.
The watch also features a start, stop, fly back and reset chronograph function, activated by a button on the side of the case.
The movement is signed “Henry Sandoz, Locle, Suisse, No 391”
The movement is in 90% mint condition – a few small marks on the steel chronograph work and light scratches on the plates
The movement is covered with a glass cover held in place with a gold ring
Case – the movement comes in a large 18K gold Hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover.
The hinged inner cover is signed “Repetition a Minutes, Chronographe, Lignes Visibles, Spiral Breguet, Balancier Compense, Remontoir Nickel, H. Sanoz, Locle”
The front cover will pop open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in
The case is profusely decorated with chased floral engraving. The front cover has a raised shield with initials “AV” or “VA” entwined
The back of the case has more engraved leaves, flowers and ferns
The case is in 99% mint condition – absolutely crisp condition with the only two tiny marks being little scratches from when you pull the slide back for the repeater
Dial – the white enamel dial is signed “Henry Sandoz, Locle, Suisse”
The dial has beautiful gold coloured hands set with paste stones (three each on the hour and minute hands and one on the tail of the centre seconds chronograph hand
The dial also has a fine outer track for the fifths of seconds
The dial is in 98% mint condition – 1 tiny and ultra faint hairline just near the sub seconds going to the edge of the dial. The watch has a fine synthetic glass.
