This is an English silver sovereign case with clear hallmarks and maker's marks for S & Co. The sovereign case is hinged and the front cover will pop open when you press the button in but it tends to catch on the sprung container for the coins. The inner circular container has a silver disc within a silver frame and this disc is sprung, so when fully pressed in will take at least 4 coins. This disc is also decorated with engine turning. The outside of the case has a smooth plain finish and has a silver suspension loop, so that it can be hung from a chain. The case measures 38mm x 30mm x 13mm and is in 90% mint condition – some light wear and tear.
