This is a large English silver locket, which has clear hallmarks on the front and clear maker's marks for WD. The oval locket has a raised plaque on the front and back. One side is decorated with engraved flowers and the other side is engraved with a swallow and flowers. The plaques on both sides are surrounded by borders with rich raised detailing of hearts with raised, fine line detailing. The edges of the locket have deep engraved arched detailing. The locket opens up and inside there are two silver metal bezels, retaining the two glass covers, one of which has a very small chip. Inside at present there is an old photo of a lady and a patchwork of engraved hair. The locket has a silver suspension loop. The locket measures 49mm wide x 39mm x 10mm deep. The locket is in 95% mint condition – small amounts of wear only
