The Ball watch company did not manufacture their own movements. They purchased what the considered to be the best movements from other companies and finished the watches themselves. This is a movement made by the Illinois Watch Company.
Movement – the high quality nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement is decorated with circular damscening and has raised gold jewel settings and a gold centre wheel. The movement is signed “Ball Watch Co, Cleveland, Ohio, 19J Adjusted”# B406553 and is in 90% mint condition – 1 deep scratch and some smaller marks
Case – the movement comes in a white gold filled open face case with a hinged back and snap on bezel. The inside of the case is signed “Ball Model, Keystone 14K Gold filled”. The case has carved edges and an unusual fine engine turned pattern on the back . The case is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the silvered dial has fancy blue steel hands and is decorated with straight line engine turning in the centre around an engraved floral crest with a brushed finish on the outer edge of the dial. The dial is signed “Ball” and is in 90% mint condition – light marks.
The watch has a synthetic glass
