This is an American pocket watch made by Waltham circa 1893. It was sent to England where it was cased in an English silver case with hallmarks for Birmingham 1893.
Movement – the model 1888 movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, raised gold jewel settings and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “A.W.W.Co. Riverside, Waltham, Mass,” # 6516757 and is in 95% mint condition.
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The case has a vacant cartouche on the back, engine turning and coin edges and is in 90% mint condition – 1 light bruise on the back and light rubbing to the engine turning.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is double hands. The dial is signed “Langdon Davies & Co, Birmingham” and is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set.
