This is an American Railroad pocket watch made by the Illinois Watch co circa 1924
The rare feature of this watch is the 60 hour Mainspring. This watch is particularly rare as it has the Mark I type signature where the watch is NOT marked 60 Hour above the Bunn Special in the signature but only 60 by the Motor Barrel in the signature. i.e. the watch has been marked once. The 23J 60Hr Bunn Special Mark I is rare with a production of only 950
Movement – the high grade nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, gold train wheels and gold jewel settings. The movement is signed “Bunn Special, Illinois Watch Co, Springfield, Motor Barrel 60, 23 Jewels, Adjusted Temp and 6 positions, 4492756”. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in its original 14K White gold filled Bunn Special Model case, which has a screw on back and bezel and a carved bow. The case has engraved edges, the rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – a superb case
Dial – the white enamel Montgomery dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Illinois” and is in 99% mint condition – 1 tiny mark below the sub seconds
The watch measures 50mm x 13mm deep
