This pocket watch was made by the Illinois Watch Co but was made under one of their sub labels, the Washington Watch Co and this in turn is a model within that label, Army & Navy.
This is an American Railroad grade pocket watch
Movement – the nickel full plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and gold jewel settings. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “Washington Watch Co, Army & Navy, 21 Jewels, Adjusted to Temperature and positions” # 2315730. The movement is in 90% mint condition – some scratches around the case screws.
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is decorated with chased detailing on the edges with a monogrammed shield on the back. The case has a smooth plain finish on the side and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Washington Watch Co” and is in 95% mint condition – a small flake on the bottom edge of the dial and two small marks on the sunken recess just under the 12.
The watch is stem wound / lever set
The watch measures 54mm wide x 17mm deep
