This is a classic rail road grade pocket watch made by the Elgin Watch Co, USA
The movement is a grade 478, model 15.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. It has gold train wheels and capped escape wheel and lever. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “BW Raymond, Elgin National Watch Co, USA, Adjusted 5 Positions, 21 Jewels” # 25917937. The movement is in 90% mint condition – light scratches
Case – the movement comes in a 10K gold plated open face case by Elgin, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is signed “BW Raymond Model” and “Cases and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co”. The case has milled edges. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – the case is in superb condition.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Elgin”. The dial is in 90% mint condition – a hairline through the centre
