This is a classic rail road grade pocket watch made by the Elgin Watch Co, USA
The movement is a grade 571, model 20.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. It has gold train wheels and capped escape wheel and lever. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “BW Raymond, Elgin 571, N 14401, 8 Adjustments, USA, 21 Jewels”. The movement is in 85% mint condition – light scratches and some deeper marks on the winding wheels
Case – the movement comes in a 10K gold plated open face case by Elgin, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has stepped edges. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – the case is in superb condition.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Elgin”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
