This is a classic 18s size 21 jewel Railroad grade pocket watch made by Hamilton circa 1911
Movement – the good quality nickel full plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, raised gold jewel settings and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Motor Barrel, 940, Adjusted 5 Posistions, Lancaster, Pa, 21 Jewels, Double Roller” # 909004. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a superb example
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face which has a screw on back and bezel. The case is decorated with a smooth plain finish on the sides and floral engraving and engine turning on the back with small engraved initials. The case is in 90% mint condition – a superb example but there is one small bruise on the edge and light loss to the engine turning and floral engraving
Dial – the white enamel double sunk Montgomery dial has a full set of blue steel hands and continuous minute marks with a 6 in the seconds . The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 95% mint condition – a hairline on the 2
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 54mm wide x 16mm deep
The watch is stem wound / lever set.
