I purchased this watch in auction believing the dial to be original. However this is a very good copy on high gloss cardboard – the dial looks fine right up until you touch it with a sharp point, which then belies the fact that it is soft instead of hard enamel
The watch is running but has not been cleaned and serviced and so no guarantees are made for accuracy and reliability
Movement – the gilt full plate lever movement has 13 jewels and is signed “G M Wheeler, Elgin, Ill” # 732212. The movement is in 90% mint condition –fine scratches and light cloudy stains
Case – the movement comes in a 5 ounce coin silver case by A.W.C.Co. The case has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has a vacant crest on the back and the rest of the case has a smooth plain finish. The case is in 95% mint condition – a superb example
Dial – the cardboard dial has full set of blue steel hands and is decorated with a colourful campsite scene in the centre and hunting and fishing images replacing each number. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 25mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
