This is a beautiful example of one of the 12 size Prestige watches made by the American companies in the 1920s and 30s. These watches have movements to rival anything the Swiss were producing at the time but are still relatively undervalued for their quality.

This one is a particularly fine example as it is in such good condition

Movement – the top quality nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement has a gold capped lever and escape wheel, raised gold jewel settings and a gold jewel setting on the mainspring barrel also. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “Hamilton, Lancaster, Pa, 23 Jewels, 920, Adjusted 5 positions, # 1911132. The movement is in 99% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a 14K white gold open face case, which has a hinged inner and back cover and a snap on bezel. The case is engraved on the inner cover “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster Pa”. The inside is flawless with a mirror finish. The exterior of the case has finely engraved borders and light engine turning on the back. The case is in 95% mint condition – a superb example

Dial – the finely silvered dial has raised gilt numbers and blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 99% mint condition – some very small marks only

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 45mm wide x 12mm deep – an American 12 size

The watch is stem wound / stem set

The watch comes in a wooden Hamilton box of the period. Lined with green silk and velvet. The box even has its original cardboard sleeve. The serial numbers on this box do not match with this watch but this is the correct box for a watch of this size.
