This pocket watch is a superb example of Art deco styling with the octagonal case and enamel detailing on the bezel.
Movement – the small 0 size movement has been configured for this case. The nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Elgin USA, 17 Jewels, Adj” 33776323. The movement is in 90% mint condition – small light scratches only.
Case – the movement comes in a 14K white gold filled two piece case. The movement sits in an inner ring which clips into the back case. The octagonal case has a black enamel chapter ring with polished numbers. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – 1 small scuff on the back and some small marks on the sides
Dial – the silvered dial has blue steel hands and is signed “Elgin”. The dial is in 95% mint condition
The watch measures 42mm wide x 9mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch comes in an Elgin box of the period but is not original to the watch but they look good together.
