This is a superb example of one of the best Hamilton Railroad pocket watches
Movement – the high quality bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement has gold train wheels, raised gold jewel settings, gold capped lever and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, Motor Barrel, 950, 23J, Adjusted to 5 positions” #2505086 and is in 99% mint condition – superb condition
Case – the movement comes in a Wandsworth, 10K Gold filled open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is signed “Hamilton” on the winder and has the patent stirrup bow. The case has carved sides and the rest of the case has a smooth plain finish. The case is in 95% mint condition with very little wear and even the bow is still stiff from little or no use
Dial – the white enamel dial is a superb example of a Montgomery dial with continuous minute marks and the 6 in the sub seconds. The dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 100% flawless condition, even the hands have their original blue steel bloom
