This is a rare Railroad pocket watch made by the Illinois Watch Co. It is slightly larger than usual and is classified as a 17s. The watch has a 60 hour mainspring but is unmarked
Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement, raised gold jewel settings, gold train and a gold capped escape wheel. It runs for over 60 hours and is an unmarked 60 hour watch. It is signed “Sangamo Special, 23J, Illinois Watch Co, Adj Temp and 6 positions” 4644796. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a superb example
Case – the movement comes in a 14K white gold filled open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is signed “Sangamo Special”. It has turned sided and a smooth plain finish. The case is in 95% mint condition – superb condition
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of correct blue steel hands for this type of watch. The dial is signed “Illinois” and is in 100% mint condition
