The watch has been cleaned and serviced and keeps excellent time to within 1 minute a day however when winding the watch, on every other turn of the winder the winder slips back as the click does not engage with the main spring wheel. Because of this the watch is sold “as is” with no warranty.
This is one of the rarer Bunn Special variants – Type 11P 161A Elinvar
Movement – this is a superb high quality nickel ¾ plate movement which has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, decorated with circular damascening, black enamel lettering, gold train wheels and raised gold jewel settings. The movement is signed “Double Roller, Bunn Special, Illinois Watch Springfield, 21 Jewels, Adjusted Temp & Six positions, Motor Barrel, 60 Hours, 161A, Elinvar (under the balance)” # 5568620. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a good example
Case – the movement comes in a superb 10K yellow gold filled case signed “Bunn Special Model. The case has a screw on back and bezel with milled edges and little engraved detailing the bow. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – light marks and scratches
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The Montgomery style dial, has a six in the sub seconds, is signed “Illinois” and is in 95% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 12.7mm deep
