This is a very rare pocket watch made by the Illinois Watch Co. It is a ¾ plate but a different style than normal with an extra cut out and less than 500 were made of this watch
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement has raised gold jewel settings, gold train wheels and a gold capped lever. The movement is signed “Washington Watch Co, Lafayette, 23 Jewels, Adj Temperature & Positions” 2592753. The movement is in 90% mint condition – very fine scratches
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case, which has a screw off back and front. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk with a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Washington Watch Co” and is in 95% mint condition – practically invisible hairline on the 3 and 8
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 49mm wide x 13mm deep
The watch is stem wound / lever set
