A rare watch, the total production of the 23 jewel versions of the Grade 174 Illinois was only 500 made. The published production figures for these are as 200 open face and 300 hunting case.
Movement – this is a top quality nickel ¾ plate movement with a lever escapement and micrometer regulator. The movement has gold train wheels, gold jewel settings and is decorated with wavy damascening. The movement is signed “Illinois Watch Co, Springfield, USA, 23 Jewels” 2232844. The movement is in 90% mint condition – some scratches
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has a scroll monogram on the back with a smooth plain finish on the rest of the case. The case is in 90% mint condition – 1 small but deep ding on the side
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk with blue steel Breguet type hands. The dial is signed “Illinois Watch Co” and is in 100% mint condition
The watch measures 50mm wide x 13mm deep
