Watch is WORKING and winding, but to set the hands requires a great deal of force to pull the winder out to the hand setting mode.
This is a very rare American pocket watch made by the Dudley Watch Co.
The movement has been cut away to form Masonic symbols and is model 2 variant with a beautiful two tone case
The watch is stem wound / stem set. The winder can be a little stiff on the final few winds and coupled with quite a sharp finish on the winding wheels make this watch unsuitable for every day use as it would simply hurt your fingers too much. This is reflected in the lower price for a watch of this type
Movement – the bridge movement is decorated with engraved gilt bridges in the form of Masonic tools and a silvered Holy Bible on the winding bridge. The movement is signed “Dudley Watch Co, Lancaster, Pa, 19 Jewels #3226” and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition
Case – the movement comes in its original 18K white gold filled open face case, which has a snap on bezel and hinged back cover.
The case is decorated with chased sides, fine engraving and yellow gold detailing on the white gold
Dial – the silvered dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Dudley”. The dial is in 95% mint condition – light marks only
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass
The watch measures 45mm wide x 12mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set. The winder can be a little stiff on the final few winds and coupled with quite a sharp finish on the winding wheels make this watch unsuitable for every day use as it would simply hurt your fingers too much.
