This is an American pocket Railroad grade pocket watch made by the Waltham Watch Co and sent to England where it was cased and sold
The English silver case has hallmarks for 1935
Movement – this is a top quality nickel bridge movement with a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement has raised gold jewel settings, gold train wheels, a gold capped lever and a diamond endstone. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “Vanguard, Waltham, Mass, USA, 23 Jewels, Adjusted 6 positions” # 29377250. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case by Dennison which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The case has coin edge sides and engine turning on the back with a vacant crest. The case is in 95% condition – a very crisp silver case
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Waltham, USA”. The dial is in 98% mint condition - a very small hairline from the sub seconds to the 6
The watch measures 48mm wide x 14mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
