This is a 12 size 17 Jewel Elgin pocket watch
The watch has a good balance and spring but the winder is not connecting to the winding or setting. If this could not be fixed, putting something else in this beautiful case would be an excellent idea
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer balance. The movement is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co, USA, 17 Jewels” # 26875766 and is in 80% mint condition – an area of tarnish
Case – the movement comes in a 14K gold filled case, which has a hinged back and snap on bezel. The case is two tone with the middle body being a yellow gold and decorated with carving. The back and bezel are white gold and decorated with engraving on the back and initials RR and carving on the bezel. The case is an exquisite example and is in 95% mint condition – super crisp condition
Dial – the silvered dial has fancy blue steel hands and is decorated with an etched central panel. The dial is signed “Elgin” and is in 99% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 45mm wide x 10mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
