This case was made for the Hamilton 4992B models used during WW2
The heavy two part case used to have an inner section for the watch suspended by 4 springs to cushion the watch against knocks etc. Only the pad and springs remain
The lid of the case has a revolving cover and glass.
The cover did have 2 locking slots and clasp – these are broken and missing. The case has an affixed plaque “Case, Carrying Watch Navigation UA Army AF, Geo H Adamson, Tecumseh, Michigan”
The case measures 100mm wide x 53mm deep
The case is in unrestored condition and has seen better days (missing inner components and general rust but this reflected in the price
