This pocket watch stand is made of two halves
One half has a circular recess to hold the watch.
The second half, joined to the other, acts as a lid or if you fold it back, it acts as a base allowing the bottom half to display the watch
This box wood carved watch stand is unusual in that the carving is quite deep and of a naturalistic form I have not seen before (and I have handled 100s of these stands)
The rest of the stand is carved with a fluted design.
The stand has a circular watch holder with a recess for a watch 44mm wide - this is the maximum width size of the pocket watch the stand will hold.
The stands when folded together measures 90mm x 52mm x 22mm and is in 90% mint condition – the stand is in excellent condition but the clasp on the lid no longer allows the cover to clip shut, instead it now rests shut only.
