This is a gilt framed pocket watch stand which has an easel strut on the back allowing the rectangular frame to stand upright
The frame is decorated with carved vine covered columns. The top edge has milled edge with gilt swags and wreath. Above the bottom edge is a pierced panel, hanging at an angle to hold keys etc. above this is a gilt seated lady playing a lyre. In the main upper section of the stand is a gilt circular frame and above this a hook from which to hang the watch and there are two additional hooks on either side for chains etc. The whole piece is covered with cream silk and the stand measures 130mm x 100mm
The stand is in 100% mint condition – which is remarkable considering the silk’s propensity to deteriorate over the years
