This is a gilt metal pocket watch stand which sits on a rectangular marble base.
The stand is a flat diorama and depicts Punch with arms outstretched to a cherub (or cupid) in a tree. Above this is the holder for the watch and the stand is well suited for watches 50mm to 55mm and that bit deeper ie a fusee or going barrel.
The stand measures 160mm high x 90mm x 60mm
The stand is decorated with carved detailing and is in 90% mint condition – the top of the stand is missing a bow or finial. Alas sold to me as perfect, for considerably more, by a less than scrupulous dealer but I am still listing it as it houses certain watches well and it is very decorative.
