This is a French watch casket. The unusual feature of this stand is that it can take an open face watch and also a hunter or half hunter watch – depending on the size of the watch.
This is a French gilt metal and glass pocket watch casket stand. The stand sits on 4 strut feet and is made up of three pieces of thick bevelled glass. They are all held in place within a gilt frame work with claw settings. The back is just gilt metal. The front hinges open and the inside is lined with blue padded silk and has a gilt hook from which to hang the watch and three other supports to take a hunter or half hunter watch. It is best suited to ladies sized watches or small verges.
The stand has a hinged handle decorated with carved detailing
The stand measures 110mm high x 70mm wide x 50mm deep
The stand is in 80% mint condition – the silk is threadbare in places but the stand is in excellent condition overall
