This pocket watch stand is made of two halves
One half has a circular recess to hold the watch.
The second half, joined to the other, acts as a lid or if you fold it back, it acts as a base allowing the bottom half to display the watch
This box wood carved watch stand is unusual in that the decoration on the front is in high relief.
Normally these type of watch stands have carving INTO the wood or if there is detailed decoration in high relief, it is still carved from the same piece of wood. This stand features a detailed image of floral bouquet which looks to have been carved and then added to the stand
The rest of the stand is carved with a fluted design but when the hinged lid open there are more floral carvings on the base.
The stand has a circular watch holder with a recess for a watch 55mm wide.
The stands when folded together measures 100mm x 60mm x 30mm and is in 85% mint condition – one leaf is missing from the front
