This is a very rare little piece. It is a much earlier type of vesta with hallmarks for London 1855 and makers information Bevnon & Stocken 10 Gracechurch St, London.
The vesta has a hinged lid and has an inner gilt finish. The vesta has an inner compartment and then a small hole on one end. When you close the lid the lip on one edge, cuts the cigar.
The vesta is decorated with engine turning and an oval cartouche on the lid
The vesta has a striker on the side and a fixed suspension loop on the opposite end to the hole.
The vesta measures 33mm x 20mm and is in 90% mint condition – light wear only
