English fusee pocket watch movement by John Forrest c1880

This is an English key wound / key set pocket watch movement

The movement has a good chain but is fully wound. The balance swings but is erratic and probably has bent pivots

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance. The movement is signed ‘John Forrest, Chronometer maker to the Admiralty, London, 18744”. The movement is in 95% mint condition

The movement has a sprung loaded dust cap

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of hands, is signed “John Forrest, London, 18744” and is in 98% mint condition – just dirty

The movement measures 46mm x 7.6mm
