This is a key wound / key set fusee pocket watch with a spring detent escapement.

The movement is ully wound, will briefly tick erratically after a twist with a short balance motion, filing marks to foot of detent and underlying steelwork as well as one balance wheel spar (arm) with discoloration from heating are evidence of poorly executed past repair and likelihood of detent replacement, overhaul needed.

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a free sprung balance, a helical hairspring with a spring detent escapement and a capped escape wheel. Probably 14 – 15 Jewels. The movement is signed “Bennett, 25 Cheapside, London” 14097 and is in 95% mint condition – visually in superb condition but please read the condition report above

Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is signed “Chronometer, Bennett, London” and is in 100% mint condition

The movement measures 44mm x 7.5mm
