This is a superb example of an English silver pair case in 100% original condition and clear hallmarks for London 1808

This watch has a fusee chain driven movement. These types of movements are extremely fragile and it is very easy to break the fusee chain if you have never handled one of these watches before and so consequently we do not cover this costly repair in the warranty.

Movement – the gilt full plate verge movement has a fusee chain with a cylinder escapement with a. brass ‘scape wheel. The movement also has a beautifully pierced and engraved watch cock decorated with an engraved crown. The movement also has a silver regulator disc and is signed “L Rokeby”. The movement is in 100% mint condition – superb condition with even the blue steel screws having their original bloom

The movement has its original gilt dust cap

Inner case – the movement comes in an inner case, which has a hinged bezel and the watch is wound from the back, set from the front and is accessed from the front also. The case has its original bow and stem. It has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition

Outer case – the original and matching outer case has its original button and clasp. It has a smooth plain finish and is in 100% mint condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has its original pair of gold hands plus a gilt sub seconds hand with a stop start lever on the edge of the movement. The dial is in 85% mint condition – there are several hairlines but still a good dial

The watch has a domed mineral glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 26mm high including the glass

The watch is key wound / key set
