This pocket watch was made in the Thos Russell factory in Switzerland. It was then sent to England where it was cased in an English silver case with hallmarks for Chester 1881and sold by Thos Russell & Sons, Liverpool
Movement – this good quality nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and has 15 jewels in raised screw held, gold jewel settings. The movement is signed “Russells Lever ¾ plate lever” The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The inner cover is signed “T R Russell, 18 Church St, Liverpool”
The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light scuff marks on the back and a few dings on the side
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Keyless ¾ plate lever, Russells”. The dial is in 85% mint condition – 3 faint hairlines in the centre of the dial
The watch has a bevelled synthetic glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 16mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set
