English silver Royal Artillery fusee pocket watch by Burdess c1893

This is an English silver fusee pocket watch with clear hallmarks for Chester 1893

Movement – the gilt full plate fusee movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance and a watch cock decorated with bright cut floral engraving. The movement is signed “Adam Burdess, Coventry” # 22983. The movement is in 99% mint condition – flawless and looking unused.

The movement has a gilt dust cap.

Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and swings out from the front also.

The back cover pops open to 90 degrees when you press the button in.

The case is engraved on the back with a broad arrow British government mark and RA 615 66.P

The rest of the case is decorated with engine turning, coin edged sides and is in 95% mint condition – 2 small marks on the case

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 90% mint condition – a small hairline from the hands to the sub seconds and a cluster of small hairlines from the sub seconds to the edge of the dial

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 50mm wide x 17mm deep
