This is an English silver pocket watch which has clear hallmarks for Chester 1839
The watch has a good balance and spring and will tick but does not keep good time
Movement – the gilt full plate fusee movement has a lever escapement and large “Liverpool window” jewels. The movement also has a stop start lever and a floral motif on the watch cock. The movement is signed “John Warburton, Liverpool, No 1205”. The movement is also signed “Patent” on the watch cock. The movement in 95% mint condition – very clean
The movement has its original gilt dust cap
Case – the movement comes in an English silver case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, is set from the front and swings out from the front also.
The case is decorated with coin edged sides and engine turning plus there is a circle on the back with engraved initials. The case is in 85% mint condition – sone small marks and dimples on the back
Dial – the solid silver dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is decorated with raised rose gold numbers and the silver dial is engraved in such a way that it as a sunburst ray effect. The dial is in 85% mint condition – many light scratches
The watch measures 49mm wide x 17mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
