This is an English silver pocket watch which has Chester hallmarks for 1835
The watch is ticking and running and keeps good time but has not been cleaned or serviced.
Movement – the gilt full plate lever movement is fusee driven with a lever escapement. It has a steel balance wheel and is signed “Chas Radcliffe, Liverpool, 186”. The movement is also signed Patent on the watch cock and in 95% mint condition – superb condition
The watch has its original gilt dust cap
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The case is decorated with rubbed engine turning on the sides and a smooth plain finish on the back. The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear only
Dial – the off white enamel dial has blue steel hands and is in 75% mint condition – several light hairlines and the tip of the minute hand is broken
The watch has a mineral glass - some scratches
The watch measures 52mm wide x 19mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an antique watch key
