This is an English silver pocket watch which has London hallmarks for 1896

This watch has a good chain but the balance sometimes swings, other times not and so the watch is sold as not working but is complete and so may only require a service.

The condition of the watch is superb and worthy of restoration

Movement – the gilt full plate lever movement is fusee driven. It has a compensated balance wheel and is signed “S Harris, Manchester & London 35408”. The movement is in 95% mint condition aesthetically but will require some attention.

Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged back and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The case is decorated with coin edged sides, engine turning and a vacant cartouche on the back. The case is in 99% mint condition – superb condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has gilt hands and is in 99% mint condition – two miniscule hairlines on the very edge of the dial

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass.

The watch measures 52mm wide x 17mm deep
