It comes in an English silver case which has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1936 which was the year before the date of the Coronation of George VI

With the watch comes a commemorative silver coin – more details below – which is fitted in the specially made box – again see details below.

Movement – the gilt bridge movement has a lever escapement and is signed “J W Benson, 15 Jewels, Swiss Made”. The movement is a clean looking movement but the mainspring / winding wheels are not engaging or winding.

Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case by Dennison, which has a hinged inner, back cover and bezel.

The front cover will pop open to 90 degrees when you press the winder in.

The case is engraved on the back with the Royal Cypher of George VI and dated 1937. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – some light wear and bruises

Dial – the white enamel dial is signed “JW Benson, London, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 70% mint condition – no sub seconds hand and damage on the 4.
