The case has clear English silver hallmarks for London 1846
This watch ha a good balance and chain and will tick. It does NOT keep any sort of time at all. It has not been cleaned and serviced.
Movement – the gilt full plate verge movement is fusee driven. It has a steel balance wheel and is signed “Pegler & Son, Blandford” No 8258. The movement is in 70% mint condition – many scratches and marks
Case – the movement comes in an English silver hunter case, which has a hinged back, front cover and bezel. The watch is wound from the back, set from the front and the movement is accessed from the front also. The front cover has a broken case spring and so the front cover requires manual assistance to open it – it does not just pop open when you press the button in on the stem. The case has a smooth plain finish and a cartouche on the front with small indistinct initials. The case is in 80% mint condition – general wear and tear from age
Dial – the off white enamel dial has gilt hands and is in 85% mint condition – a long hairline from the 9 to the 1
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 47mm wide x 17mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with an antique watch key
