Most of the watches in my “Watches for restoration section” were purchased with a view to clean and service them and list them in my main section. However, when I inspect a watch if I find one or two faults then I list them here and this watch is one of those examples
This watch is NOT working. It is fully wound and will only tick for a few seconds. It has not been cleaned or serviced and so is sold with NO Warranty and NO Guarantees
This is a genuine Rolex pocket watch which was made in Switzerland. It was sent to England where it was cased and sold. The watch case has clear gold assay marks for 9K and hallmarks for London 1938
Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with fish scale damascening. The movement is signed “Rolex, Lever, 15 Jewels, Swiss Made”. The movement is in 90% mint condition – light marks
Case – the movement comes in a solid 9K gold open face case, which has a hinged back and snap on bezel. The back when open only goes back to around 75 degrees and the bezel does not form a tight fit on to the rest of the case – there are a few mm gaps. The case is in 85% mint condition – a few bruises and marks
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands, is signed “Swiss Made” and is in 99% mint condition – small marks only
The watch has a bevelled mineral glass – this will come out if you take the bezel off
The watch measures 48mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
