In over 30 years of dealing with pocket watches and this is the heaviest watch chain I have had the pleasure of selling. I have one listed at the moment which is 189g – which is 6 ounces of silver. This is dwarfed by this chain, which weighs 312g which is 10 ounces.
It is hard to convey howe heavy this chain is until you see it and pick it up. I have taken a few shots next to a regular sized watch chain and also next to a 50mm watch, again to give an idea of size and scale.
This massive watch chain which weighs 312.5g in total and has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1904
The watch has its original oversize T bar and dog clip and thick curb links, each stamped with a hallmark. The chain measures 370mm in length from the T bar to the dog clip and measures 400mm end to end and measures 18mm wide at its widest point by 11mm thick. The chain is in 100% mint condition
