This is a low grade silver chain. What does that mean? Most silver chains we sell are English silver with clear hallmarks on every link. We also sell fancier chains which may be stamped Sterling. This chain has no silver marks. So we test it with acid for its purity and in this case get a low testing. So the silver content in the chain did not have enough to earn some sort of stamp. The chain is still an antique silver chain but the low grade purity is represented in the price.
This is a massive chain which weighs 114g and measures 430mm in length. The chain is made up of a single length of large curb links with the largest being 19mm by 14mm. The chain also has an oversized dog clip and T bar – I have taken comparison shots of a regular sized dog clip and T bar to give you an idea of size and scale. The chain is huge and is in 95% mint condition.
