This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This seal has a dull shank and a stone which is marked and scratched but still provides a decent wax impression – the wear is reflected in the price
This is a gilt Georgian seal
The seal has an oval base with a dull opaque stone
The stone is engraved an intaglio of a classical figure
The shank is decorated with a carved base and carved strut handle.
The seal is topped with a suspension loop.
The seal measures 31mm x 19mm x 14mm
The seal is in 70% mint condition – dull finish on the shank and wear on the stone.
