This seal has a base carved with an intaglio and was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal
This gilt metal seal has square shield base set with a white agate stone and engraved with the initials MB in reverse.
The seal has an ornately carved base and handle topped with a suspension loop.
The seal measures 23mm x 13mm x 12mm and is in 95% mint condition – lovely condition
