This was an unmounted intaglio made circa 1810. Around 1890 a 9K gold mount was added so that it could be worn as a fob
It is made of glass and was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this intaglio using hot wax to show that the intaglio works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the purchase of this piece
This was originally an unmounted intaglio and is made from a thick square piece of red glass
The stone is engraved with an intaglio of a faithful hound and the words “Je ne crains que ce que j’aime” – I only fear what I love.
The stone measures 16.7mm long x 14.7mm wide and 10.5mm deep.
Around 1890 a solid 9K gold mount was added – this is clearly marked 9ct gold.
The fob is in 95% mint condition – superb condition
