This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a solid 18K gold seal. It has no assay marks but has been tested and is sold as 18K. The total weight is 14g in total
The seal is decorated with crisp ornate carving. It has a flared handle topped with a suspension loop
The rectangular base is set with a dark red stone engraved with an armorial crest.
The seal measures 30mm x 21mm x 19mm
The seal is in 90% mint condition – the seal itself is in super crisp condition but the handle must have come off with wear and now has a X metal repair, which is reflected in the low price for this heavy solid gold piece.
